I am so proud to let you know I have a story in Khoreo: https://www.khoreomag.com/fiction/so-many-many-awful-things-lived-on-and-so-did-i/
This story is about a character slowly losing her mind, as she rents out copies in order to exact her revenge. What would you do for your motherland if you lost everyone else you ever loved? What would society look like if we couldn’t trust the person inside the body because it can be rented out by anyone? The implications of the technology in the story can go so many interesting places but war has been ever heavy on my mind and I seem unable to write about anything else.
The title is inspired by the 4th stanza of the famous poem The Rime of the Ancient Mariner By Samuel Taylor Coleridge https://poets.org/poem/rime-ancient-mariner
“The many men, so beautiful!
And they all dead did lie:
And a thousand thousand slimy things
Lived on; and so did I.
I looked upon the rotting sea,
And drew my eyes away;
I looked upon the rotting deck,
And there the dead men lay.”
If you were able to read the story, let me know your thoughts in the comment. So happy to discuss this one as it’s near and dear to my heart.
